High-precision and automated cutting of print material is implemented by means of non-contact measuring TTK70 linear encoders. For this, the cutting blades are moved to their respective positions and then lowered. Rotary SICK encoders, such as the DFS60 incremental encoder and the ATM60 absolute encoder, determine the speed and position information that is also required. With the SSI and fieldbus interfaces PROFIBUS, CANopen, and DeviceNET, the ATM60 absolute encoders have the interfaces that are prevalent in the industry.
