In cooperation with Gessmann and SICK, razor blade manufacturer Wilkinson Sword is deploying mobile robots in intralogistics to automate material flow, relieve facility operators, and thereby create a safe, ergonomic, and efficient working environment.
Wilkinson Sword relies on Gessmann‘s GESSbot 350 for automating internal logistics processes. Packed with state-of-the-art sensors, GESSbot 350 safely navigates the delicate cargo through all refinement processes at Wilkinson Sword. Inductive proximity sensors from SICK's IME12 series ensure the detection and differentiation of workpiece carriers. Localization and safe person detection are performed by nanoScan3 EFI-pro safety laser scanners. The protection of employees is further ensured by Safe Motion solutions from SICK, optimizing the interaction between humans and machines and thereby ensuring the efficiency of applications.
